Karen Warrington Recalls Her Early Days at WDAS

Produced for the documentary “Going Black: The Legacy of Philly Soul Radio”

Karen Warrington, now the director of communication for Congressman Robert Brady, recalls her days as a new reporter at WDAS. I produced this piece as a companion to the Mighty Writers radio documentary “Going Black: The Legacy of Philly Soul Radio.” It was featured on PRX Remix, which is curated by Roman Mars who hosts the show 99% Invisible. PRX Remix hand picks “the best short works” from independent producers and shows including The Moth, and Snap Judgment. “Going Black” was co-produced by Alex Lewis and Yowei Shaw. The documentary won a 2015 Edward R. Murrow Award.
